Aims of the department
The Applied Statistics Department aims to:- Prepare graduates who have knowledge in statistical measures and the ways of using them in analyzing data.
- Prepare graduates who are able to understand technical developments and the uses of computer in all fields. Also, qualify them to have knowledge in the applications of statistical computer to be used in analyzing data.
- Prepare graduates who are able to work in related institutions and understand the changes that will happen in future.
- Prepare graduates who are able to conduct scientific researches to be updated with developments on international and local levels.
- Prepare graduates who are able to serve the society.
- Graduate specialized staffs who are able to handle statistical tasks in the governmental institutions.
- Help unspecialized people in statistic and econometricsfields through holding training courses and workshops and providing with consultancy services.
- Graduate statisticians to contribute effectively in solving quantitative economic problems.
- Build a high level of interaction between the college and society’s institutions to connect the university with society.
Conditions of acceptance
- Having a good rated bachelor degree in Economics- Applied Statistics specialization- from one of the governmental universities in Syrian Arab Republic or from an equivalent faculty or institute authorized by the university council in the Ministry of Higher Education.
- Passing the exam of foreign language.
