In commercial / industrial firms supplying managers have a vital and strategic role, their major responsibilities include:- setting the required timetables that are important to dispatch orders
- monitoring the quality, the quantity and the efficiency of goods' movement in firm's storages
- dealing with recent customers' enquiries and complements
- updating and developing firm's polices that are related to the work and negotiating with new customers
- providing consultant services and cooperating with warehouse manager
- developing standards and methods that are related to his job
- evaluating workers' performance and advising them with required training needs which update their skills generally
Environment of work
- Supplying manager works in his own office which is located in the main firm's building or near to firm's storage.
- supplying manager works on average for 8 hours daily (5 day-week), but his working hours may be extended from time to time especially when there is sudden orders
- supplying manager does not require to wear any kind of uniform within doing his work
- supplying manager may work within a teamwork or may work alone in setting the required timetables of each order
- practicing this job may be done between organization’s storage and its stores
