Nature of work
He/ she works independently to set up environmental control standards, propose environment and natural resources protection strategies, policies, instructions, promote, secure all natural environmental resources requires, prepare technical reports, manage subordinates and develop their skills, develop procedures, and provide occupational safety and healthy requirements. Major tasks include:- Studying, planning, analyzing, and setting up the natural resources environment control studies, specifications, strategies, policies, instructions, and standards.
- Proposing solutions to control environmental problems.
- Preparing the environmental and natural resources monitoring specifications requirements.
- Preparing and studying the environmental resources plans, and the human and physical studies requirements.
- Observing the studies, analyzing the results, and proposing solutions.
- Following up the quality standards systems development.
- Preparing environment preservation technical reports, and using modern techniques.
- Evaluating the subordinates’ performance to identify their training needs and train them to improve their skills.
- Providing and developing occupational safety and healthy requirements
Environment of work
- Environment engineer works about eight hours a day every week except weekends.
- The work environment diverse between the offices to the field.
- Environment Engineer can work independently by taking the benefit from his/ her expertise in environmental consulting to establish some projects that may affect the environment or work as a team member to do a complete study for the natural plant places to apply perfect forests or afforested lands management.

- Environment engineer can practice his/ her work independently within the powers conferred upon him/her or as a team member in private or public sectors. The salary in public sector will be at least 20,000 Syrian bounds.
- Environment Engineer work is a basis for the agriculture engineer work, and closely linked to each of agricultural propagation engineer, field crops, nurseries, forests and food industries engineers.
- Environment engineer work: field work includes data gathering, field observations that are required him to be familiar with some harmful environmental phenomena, and laboratory work to oversee the pollution sample tests. - For getting this job, the person have to study in agriculture Faculty, department of essential sciences, or department of rural engineering, or department of renewable natural resources and ecology.
- The students during that should get some related courses such as: climate and meteorology, irrigation and drainage techniques and remote sensing techniques and practical study of several agriculture, forestry, farm machinery, and rural development courses. In addition to his foreign languages, computer programming, engineering quality knowledge.
- Preferably, Agriculture Faculty graduate students pursue their graduated program studies in the department of rural engineering, or department of renewable natural resources and the ecology to get their master's and Ph.D. degrees
