Nature of work
He/she works independently in studying planting crops and vegetables. He/she develops programs to prepare the land care andharvest, identifies work materials, equipment schedule and qualification, prepares bids stipulations, prepares technical reports, manages subordinators, develops procedures, and provides requirements of occupational safety and health. The tasks include:- Studying market needs and price expectations.
- Calculating production quantities, costs and expected profits.
- Identifying agricultural crops rotation and appropriate methods for land preparation and production requirements
- Identifying work materials, equipment schedule and qualification.
- Preparing seedlings production programs and exposed and protected plants cultivation and follow-up the implementation
- Preparing fertilization, irrigation, and pest control programs.
- Preparing production harvest programs.
- Preparing production process programs after harvest.
- Preparing crops bid stipulations and studying them financially.
- Conducting studies and field observations.
- Preparing technical reports and using modern techniques.
- Evaluating subordinates performance to determine their needs for training.
- Providing occupational safety and health requirements
Environment of work
- He/she works about 8 hours a day except weekend, but sometimes he/she works extra time during production preparation seasons as well as in periods of service operations and productivity, and marketing seasons.
- Work environment varies: in the office, field tours to field crops, protected and exposed growing vegetables plants fields
- Working independently is possible in case he/she has experience in consultation.
- Full time job is required.
- This job can be carried on by men and women especially in case of giving appropriate information to deal in the field crops, protectedand exposed vegetables.
- Working independently in private institution is possible.
- He/she works to keep international field crops production,protected and exposed vegetables standard specifications conditions and works to achieve quality performance.
